Hello,
I have just installed a larger memory module into my Pismo running
10.4.2. It had two 128 mb modules = 256 mb ram total.
Therefore, I put in one 256 mb from my ibook G3 300 mhz, leaving
the other 128 mb in place = total 384 mb.
With the 256 mb only, it ran Tiger. However, once I put the other
256 mb in, it starts up fine, lets me log in and then the cursor
freezes. I wondered it if was bad ram, but then why does it boot
up? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks.
Because that's how far it gets before it freezes..it won't mess up
until it actually accesses the ram.:-) Double check all connections,
and reseat the RAM and CPU. These are the usual causes of such
problems. if it persists, then the the system isn't happy with the Ram.
