I use EyeTV on a 15"/1.5Ghz PB with their Plextor capture device and have been impressed. It uses Firewire. The latest version of the software will export to iPod too. I use it to capture video off my Tivo and burn to DVDs using Toast7. Works great for me. Also does DivX and mpeg4.
