In October of 2003 I ordered a replacement LG DVD drive from them for
my Pismo. Like many others, my drive started to have problems reading
certain CD's and DVD's. For about $90 I got one from them that they
guaranteed would read everything and last forever.
I have to agree that in the end, I got what I was promised. I am
still using the drive and have had absolutely no problems with it. I
would recommend it to anyone. However, the first couple they sent me
didn't work. I found Dave easy to deal with, and he sent me the
replacements quickly, the last one even before I returned the
defective drive to him. I feel that even good companies will have
some problems, I try to judge them by how those problems are
resolved, and mine were with WegenerMedia.
I am considering the G4 upgrade, and if I do it, I will probably go
with them.
As a side note, I have an extra, unopened replacement LG drive from
them. If anyone wants to give it a try for a very reasonable cost,
email me. I have kept it around in case the one I have goes south,
but I would probably upgrade to the DVD burner advertised on
WegenerMedia's website.
