Log into the Google Groups page, then My Groups, then on Manage my

Does this mean I *must* have a Google account just to be able to
get a digest to the list? Or is there a way to email in a request
for a digest like there is to email in a request to get the
listings individually?
Yes, you need to create an account on Google Groups to get the
emailed digests, because you need to set your preferences, AFAIK. All
you need enter is your email address and a password; and they already
HAVE your e-mail address...
