I'm having the same problems in the last week or so with Safari on a Nac Mini.

Clear caches.
Try a diff browser.
Try a diff user account.

Personally, I don't use Safari any more--found too many times it
wouldn't work right for me.  I switch off between FireFox and iCab
when I want to do any online work.

I have to admit, I'm becoming less and less enamoured with Safari. Seems like after each Tiger update, it's become slower and has more problems viewing sites. Firefox and iCab don't have these difficulties.
