Since someone mentioned that they appreciate people posting to inform of the resolution of a problem, allow me this.

My battery is fixed!!! I the Lombard unplugged in sleep mode for about seven hours, and the battery worked when I plugged it back in. It showed all 4 LEDs and a full charge in OS 9. In fact, I'm typing this on battery power, where before, it would go instantly to sleep to preserve the contents of memory.

If you left the lombard unplugged with the dead battery in it, how did the battery get charged ?

What exactly was the symptom of the dead battery ?
