Just do what I have done, and put OS 9.04 back on.
There is not that much difference betwwen the two.
Most of what is in 9.1 is to make it play nice in the
"classic" environment of OSX. I had all kinds of
problems after more than one abortive attempt to
install it on my Beige G3. They were mostly problems
waking from sleep. I went back to 9.04 and have had no
issues.
Before I upgrade to OSX, I'll buy a new box first (one
that will preferably hold more than one 5.25in drive.
Are you listening, Steve J?). I don't see this whole
thing as much of a "digression".
