Had some problems with my email this morning, and instead of fighting the stubborn server, I decided to finally swap videocards with the 8500, -a long time hangover. And so I did, put the Macs back together and plugged everything back in. Next, I ignored a type 1 error from Word 6, launched Word 2001 and printed some pages. Then I wanted to check my email again, but FreePPP couldn't find the modem. Sometimes it's just like that, and I then unplug the modem and everything's okay again. But not today, when I click retry, or just try again after clicking stop, the Mac freezes up. I've trashed: PPPAutoDetectDB PPP prefs AppleTalk prefs AppleShare Prep Remote Access folder (don't know why it's there, I don't use Remote Access) Open Transport prefs folder Modem prefs (2, one english and one danish) MacTCP DNR TCP/IP prefs Didn't help, it still freezes up and can't find the modem. Everything else seems to be okay (not that it's ever been stable). G3 MT 300 mhz, 8.6 (danish), FreePPP 2.5.3, Eicon Diva ISDN modem. Modem seems to be okay for phoning and connecting through with another modem. Anything more I can trash? Or should I just do what I have thought about for a long time, - install a fresh system? I don't really have time for that, but desperatly need the G3 to be online, and it would be an opportunity to get rid of that crappy 8.6.
