I called my ISP ISDN hotline (then I'm really desperate...). First supporter gave up on me, when I told her that I didn't have the modem control panel. "You can't just plug in a modem like that", she stated... But she got someone else to call me up. He also gave up on me, but promised to send me a new modem cable (nice guy). Borrowed a similar modem from a friend, and hooked it up today. The cable didn't arrive, so I unplugged the cable from the G3, and found the pins to be bend. I straightened (sp?) them out and plugged it back in, but still no luck. I can't connect with AppleTalk on the printer port either, seems I've lost the serial ports on the G3. Could this be due to the bend pins in the plug, - some sort of short circuit? If my serial ports are both blasted, how can I fix it? And why oh why can't I get the 8500 to connect with the same setup that has worked for months on the G3? TIA Tina - Beyond desperation, more like siiiiighhhhh... *^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^*^^* Tina Holm, Pederstrup Djurs, DK. MacTivist.
