Have you installed iTunes 1.1? I did just this on my Beige G3266MT and my
Iomega Zip CD 650 (pretty much the same drive except yours is much cooler
looking) was no longer recognized by Toast 4.1.3. It seems that the iTunes
authoring extensions somehow defeat/supercede the Toast extensions.

I ended up having to create a startup extension set with OS9.1 only plus the
Toast extension. If there's an easier way. I don't know it yet.
