I have a Blue and White G3 and need advice as I want to upgrade my ATA/100
drive. I am thinking of either a Quantum Fireball AS 7200RPM 60GB or an IBM
Deskstar GXP 60GB. Which one??

Quantum is dead as a Dodo Bird (Maxtor recently bought them out).

Quantum drives are a dead-end, and I believe they are being unloaded in
preparation for sh*t-canning the entire product line. Quantum engineers are
being "right sized" out of their jobs as we speak.

IBM's 60GXP series is perhaps the finest UATA drive on the market now.

That 7200 rpm IBM is quieter than a 5400 rpm Maxtor.

My $0.02 worth.
