** I first responded/sent this to the QuadList, but realized it probably
would be better to send to a newer list (if you are using a ten year old Mac
do you really need a Cable modem (-: **

Hi Dan,
That sounds like great advice but I actually use my @home address and don't
need another address. After 3 years I have finally had everyone switch from
my old AOL to my @home address, and am planning on canceling that monthly
bill. I have hated having those two addresses and certainly don't want
another and would never consider over a dozen.

While something must be happening to cause "@home address being dropped",
After 3 years, I have only had one time that I could not connect to the
server to send/receive mail. And over the past week, I have had no reports
from anyone else that mail could not be delivered to me. Maybe its the ISP
that you are sending from, I ran into a problem a few days ago where every
e-mail from AOL to Prodigy bounced back but @home could send to them fine.

On another subject,
Many people have reported how this new "RED" virus has been causing problems
with their Modems/Routers.
What problems are happening??
I have a Com21 DOXport111 Modem, and a NetGear RT314 router. I didn't like
the way they blocked(firewall) all these ports and you would have to turn on
ports on an individual bases for every internet App/Game you wanted to run,
so I turned off all filters and allowed everything through.
I have had no problems getting on the internet and since I have never had
any firewall/virus software the past 3years I am not really concerned, but
want to know what "could" happen. Especially when I upgrade to OSX.

Thanks
Ray
