I agree with Bill. I've done numerous clean installs and re-installs. Just
open your new system folder, read as list, sort alphabetically, and then
open your previous system folder right along side of it and do the same
thing. Go down the list on each one. The stuff that is repeated in the new
system folder, throw away in the previous system folder. The stuff that is
not, and you want to keep, move over from the previous to the new system
folder. Just be sure to put what was in the Extensions folder in the new
Extensions folder, same with control panels,etc. Also, do not assume what is
in each folder. Open them all up. When you are finished, empty the trash
and restart and rebuild. You will have more space on the HD and everything
should work as before, only better and faster.
