You could look for something like the Macally "Port Xpander", which plugs
into the serial port - and the ADB port, for power - and gives you 3
switchable serial/localtalk ports (you can use only one at a time). I
believe it's compatible up to OS 9.x, at least the last time I looked; you'd
have to check if it's OS X compatible. I bought one used (though barely) for
about $20 from a guy who had just sold his last serial peripherals; he'd
been using it with a g-port and said it worked fine. Unfortunately I haven't
had time to test it out yet, either on my Yosemite (with ADB) or one of our
older Macs.
