The best alternative may be a power supply from an 8600/9600.

The 8600/9600 power supply is 370 watts; the MT power supply is 171 watts.

The 8600/9600 case is the basis for the MT case, and an 8600/9600 power 
supply may be a "drop in", although the wiring from the 8600/9600's 24-pin 
and 10-pin power connectors would have to be rewired to the Beige G3's 20-pin 
power connector.
