i found the same link, suffice it to say that it requires substantial
metal working, preferably with a mill (expensive if you have to pay a
machine shop to do it, note to self, really try to find a free mill...) 
and i sadly don't see any way around it.  you could probably get by with
sheet metal sheers or a metal cutting jig saw, if you are patient,
skilled, and have plenty of time.  it requires drilling out several
rivets and replacing them with snap-rivets in a different position. 
basically the shelf, which is riveted into the machine has to be
removed, moved down, and replaced, after making a bigger hole in the
front.  glad i have a scsi bus for externals, much simpler.  the english
instructions on the site are also difficult to follow, it was written by
a french speaker who obviously knows english as a second language but
needs a little work (i can't complain, the only other languages i've
learned are programming languages and they're much simpler).
