Also, OS X does something similar (?) to activate master/slave function on an 'Old World' Rev.A Beige IDE Bus (CD-Rom). Has anyone seen a formal write-up about that? I've done it on my Beige, but it was strictly an experimental attempt (getting jumper settings on IDE drives to agree with other drives, etc.). George
