There are a lot more problems for designers going to OSX than the
absence of Quark for OSX. There are many small apps and plugins we need
that are not on X. Scanner and printer support are very bad and some of
the new "Carbonized" apps have a lot of problems.

Photoshop seems to be working well in X but Illustrator 10 has some real
problems. Some of Illustrators basic functions have been subjected to
BrainDead progress and are now very cumbersome to use. Adobe srewed up
the Pathfinder functions and the way some of the Filters are applied.
They even srewed up Stroke selection by simply reversing the point size
that first appear when the dropdown menu opens. How often does anyone
use a 100pt stroke?

I think it will take a minimum of a year and a half for print designers
to be able to go to X in large numbers.
