Raf, I can't answer the other questions but will comment on #3. I have the
same computer. You will not gain very much by overclocking an old 233
processor- you would probably only get it to run stable at 266. You should
get a faster processor chip. A 400 G3 (ZIF) can be bought on ebay for about
$85 US (and faster ones for more- the G4's get rather expensive). They are
very easy to install, easier than jumpers for overclocking.
 Also if you are doing video work you probably should install a video card
such as a Voodoo.
I see no reason why you can't stay with OS 9 for a while longer (I am).
I did see a Datatek PCI firewire card at macs4all.com for $36 US and am
thinking of getting it (and a larger Hd) but don't know if they are good.
