Paul, I had a similar problem a few yrs ago with my mac clone (Starmax). It kept trying to send to the modem port instead of printer port and I had to reselect printer port in the Chooser each time I turned it on. I finally hit on a work-around that solved it. I plugged the printer into the modem port and modem in the printer port, then selected those ports in the Chooser and the computer was happy. Maybe something like this will help you. Another possible help would be go the Epson site (http://support.epson.com/filelibrary.html) and get the latest version of the mac driver for the 600 if you dont have it already- changing OS's may have caused the difficulty- I have a 740 Epson and didnt have any problems when I went from OS 8 to 9, though.
