Last week I posted a message about trying to get OS X working on my
G4-upgraded Beige G3. I successfully installed it onto a drive on another
machine and then put the drive in my BG3. I was able to boot into X but it
was awfully slow. I have determined (with some listers' help) that it is
because I have not installed the XLR8 MachSpeed software which enables the
G4 caches under X.

When I try to run the XLR8 installer, it shows my OS X drive as disabled.
When I mouse over it, the "fly over" text says that I can't install on this
drive because it has to be installed on a partition in the first 8 Gb of the
drive. Unfortunately, there is only one partition on the drive.

Does it mean that there has to be a partition that is 8 Gb or less? Or does
it mean that the partition just needs to include the first 8 Gb?
