I found that good heatsinking was essential to keep my G4/466 (OC'd to 500
MHz) running without overheating problems in my DT G3.  Be sure you use good
quality (preferably high silver oxide content) thermal paste between the
processor chip and the stock heatsink, and that you reinstall the clip which
holds the heatsink dowm with the original orientation (note this when
removing it).  Don't use too much paste - a thin even layer applied with a
razor blade worked best for me although some folks recommend a small dab in
the center of the CPU, spread by "working" the heatsink around before
fastening it down.
