I have a similar machine (Blue G3/400 MHz/SCSI), and have been told not to attach anything to the external SCSI because it will slow down the entire chain. I bought/attached an Adaptec PD 2930U card for peripherals, haven't used it yet but am close to trying a SCSI CD burner. My turn, will I slow down SCSI by adding a 2nd internal SCSI drive -- a fast/faster UW2 or 160 variety? Firewire would be an option (better?) if it is bootable.
