tragically that's the trend in all things in the u.s., and i believe
many foreign countries as well more and more. there was a surge of
freedom which scared the begeebies out of the authorities and elite, and
as usual they've used thier money and power to posion things at best.
ironically, the "politically correct" garbage, started by liberals who
were morons, helped promote this bassically conservative move (not that
all liberals are stupid, but there is an arrogant and ignorant component
in all groups, it's essential for self rightousness and intolerance).
but this is an off topic and basically political so we'd best stop
hashing it out on list. it's all part of the pendulum swing, best know
when to duck if you want to keep your' head, hopefully mc carthyism
won't come back full force, but things are headed that way.

"Promise me, promise me this day, promise me now..." he asked. "Even as
they strike you down, you will remember: humanity is not our enemy. The
only thing worthy of you is compassion...Hatred will never let you face
the beast in human beings. One day, when you face the beast alone, with
your courage intact, your eyes kind...out of your smile will bloom a
flower. and...on the long, rough road, the sun and the moon will
continue to shine." Thich Nhat Hanh, Buddhist monk
