well, it probably just means it's a new store and all their batteries
are fresh, or perhaps just the ones you checked.  batteries like
everything else tend to have a limited shelf life.  it's interesting to
note that such batteries actually last longer with a very, very small
load on them, like in a digital watch (without the silly backlight or
alarm of course) or in some computer applications.

or, it could mean there will be no one left to care by then, which seems
a distinct possibility the way things are going....
