I've been using Logic 4.8.1 for some time on my Beige DT G3 233 and the
only problem I had was that it wasn't fast enough to run more than 3 or
4 VST plugs and effects inserts. Everything else worked great, and with
only the audio card that came stock with my G3.

Last week I updated the processor to a G4 450 with Altivec. First thing
I noticed was the "G4 with Velocity Engine" symbol as I started up
Logic. Then, when I played my file I heard pops and clicks throughout.

Others have suggested changing the disk cache or buffer size of the
audio card. I changed the disk cache in the memory control panel with
no effect. Can I change the buffer size with the stock audio card for a
G3 233 Beige DT? Logic is the only reason I bought my G4 upgrade. If I
can't get it working I hope to send it back.

My system:

Beige G3 DT 233 updated to a G4 450
No additional audio hardware
2 internal IDE Hard Drives (Maxtor 40G, WD 120G)
768 MB Ram / 6 MB Vram
Mac OS 9.2.2
XLR8 MACh Speed Control software (to enable Cache)

Anyone?
Thanks,
Dennis
