I've been using Logic 4.8.1 for some time on my Beige DT G3 233 and the only problem I had was that it wasn't fast enough to run more than 3 or 4 VST plugs and effects inserts. Everything else worked great, and with only the audio card that came stock with my G3.
Last week I updated the processor to a G4 450 with Altivec. First thing I noticed was the "G4 with Velocity Engine" symbol as I started up Logic. Then, when I played my file I heard pops and clicks throughout. Others have suggested changing the disk cache or buffer size of the audio card. I changed the disk cache in the memory control panel with no effect. Can I change the buffer size with the stock audio card for a G3 233 Beige DT? Logic is the only reason I bought my G4 upgrade. If I can't get it working I hope to send it back.
