I have several Beige G3's with IDE problems. I have two with Rev A. motherboards that one of the controllers doesn't seem to work.
The third is a Rev B. (Rev 2 ROM, $77D.45F1) motherboard that when the hard drive is connected (as master) to the primary IDE connector, and the cdrom the secondary (also as master), the system desn't recognize the CDROM. If I switch them and put the hard drive on the secondary, and the CDROM on the primary, then it sees both drives. Any ideas? I have a lot more experience with PC clones than Macs (although I definitely like Macs better already, at least OS-wise). With PC's you can disable one or both IDE channels on most motherboards. Is that the case with these? Is there some setup for this? Thanks, Jay -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
