It does happen. Sorry if it seemed like flames. Even Apples have 
hiccups. Perhaps more than some as we tend to keep machines for a long 
time. <G>

I recently went through the frustration of having a previously stable 
system, drive me nuts with crashes. It had been working great and then 
it was like the "randomnizer gremlin" came to stay. It turned out to be 
a new HD that I had installed a couple of months previously.

Me, never expecting that a brand new, name brand, high quality 
component could have failed so quickly, went through all kinds of 
machinations, zapping pram, resetting the cuda, swapping ram, etc.. The 
frustrating thing was that it wouldn't show up in fsck, Tech Tool or 
other diagnostics.

Once I found it, the manufacturer replaced it promptly and everything 
was fine. Before that I seriously consider the marine solution. (Making 
a boat anchor out of the G3).

Oh well. Too soon old, too late smart.  Hang in there.
