This is off the subject, and please contact me off the list. I have had problems for 3 years, attempting to access 'Ancestry.com'. Basically, all genealogy data has been sold to Ancestry, and none of it is accessable.
Initially, it required creating an account with a password on thier site. However, I have never beem able to access the account that I just created. I alwayd get the message that my password was not entered properly. If its a typo, could that have been created vis AOL, as it changes everything to MIME, which isn't mine nor years, but something that changes text-database-spreadsheets and everything elas to it own language, sends stuff out of sequence, and then there is now way to assemble it. So, maybe you can't create and access any account from AOL. Ar present, I have 768 MB of memory installed on my Mac G3. So lack of memory shouldn't be a problem. I suppose that I could give Explorer 4 about 100 MB of memory, but that sounds rediculous. Then again, if it works, ... Is there anybody out there interested in genealogy? Anybody ever been able to access anything on Ancestry,com? Under what cirsumstances did it work? What kind and model of computer? How much memory? Access vis AOL, or something elas? Do I need to get an email account form something else, which is able to access Ancestry? I'm open to ideas here, but wouldn't be surprised if nobody has ever been able to access it.
