I used a Global Village, external 56 K Flex modem with 10.1.5 on my
clone. You have to download the drivers from Global Village. The one
you want is labeled GV115 Universal. Boot into O.S. 9, download the
driver, install it in the modem scripts folder in the extensions. When
you boot back into OS X you'll find OS X has imported the GV115
Universal script and it's now available as a modem selection in OS X.
select it and you should be good to go.

Worked for me.
