Is the Apple Superdrive worth the investment, or should I just buy an after

The Superdrive is a Pioneer DVR-104 which goes for about $250, cheaper than most
external drives. It replaces the original cd drive. The advantage is that you
can use iDVD with it. iDVD won't work with any other drive, nor will it work
with a "Superdrive" mounted externally in any way. So if you intend to burn
video DVDs,a bare Pioneer drive,is the way to go. You'll need a G4 for iDVD. I
think it is the cheapest option too.

You can get a G4 zif upgrade for those Beige machines for under $200.
