Interleaving doesn't matter. Anti-static is nice, but not necessary if you're careful. Another route is to take a standard computer power cord, remove the power conducting connectors leaving only the ground wire functional, and leave it plugged in while you work. Doing the RAM will probably take 10 minutes, max.
