Roland, I use the Asante Ethernet to Local Talk adapter and my internet connection is also through my ethernet port.
Using both is no problem, but you have to get an Ethernet hub or router. You plug your computer's ethernet port into the first outlet on the hub, and the localtalk bridge into any other and both are accessible. But you need the hub. I got one on eBay (Asante model FH 205P) for very cheap ($10 plus shipping): a lot of people seem to be selling theirs on order to go to wireless networking. Hope this helps.
