Hello everyone. What I previously thought to be a clock chipping problem is actually a problem with my VooDoo 5 card. I put my original 266MHz back in my beige tower, and had the same problem, until I used the onboard video. The problem is, during the final phases of starting up or shortly after, my screen shows all sorts of wierd things, like a line following the mouse. Then the computer more or less freezes, and I can still pull down some windows, but they are clear and overlap and stay on the screen and eventually my whole screen will be filled with garbage. My VooDoo 5 was originally a PC card that had been flashed for Mac by the previous owner. Here is my software setup:
Mac OS 9.1 3dfx Mactools v1.1.2 3dfx Flide2.x version VooDoo, Banshee, VooDoo3 & Velocity 100/200 2.61.00.0658 for MacOS 3dfx Flide3.x version VooDoo, Banshee, VooDoo3 & Velocity 100/200 3.10.00.0658 for MacOS 3dfx Graphics accelerator v1.1.2 3dfx OpenGL Renderer v1.1.2 3dfx Rave v1.1.2 OpenGL Engine v1.2 OpenGL Utility v1.2 OpenGL Renderer v1.2 OpenGL Memory v1.2 Open GL Library v1.2 Is there anything that I should update, add, or remove from my extensions folder or contral panels folder? Where can I find the newest or most compatible software that I should be using? Thanks for any help Chris -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
