Hey guys, I am having a few problems with OS X on my beige G3 and was
considering buying either TechTool Pro v3 (+ free update to v4) or
DiskWarrior 2.1. I know I can use either of these for both OS 9 and X
but what do people generally think about these? I'd like to be able to
do defragmentation...
They don't really compete. Each does similar but different tasks. Both are worth having in your Mac "tool kit". Personally, if I could only have one of them, I would probably opt for the Disk Warrior. It's gotten me out of a lot of problems over the years. Most of which were caused by stupid human sh*t done by the computer user. Who? moi? :-)

Both are excellent utilities. You wont be disappointed in either, but if it's either/or and defragging is the main goal? Then Disk Warrior probably is the best choice.
