In addition Albert's good advice, I would add the FireWire of rev.1 
is fragile and many have had their Mac's B&W G3 rev.1 FireWire say 
good bye. Both Albert and I have put in Adaptec 4300 PCI FireWire 
boards to get reliable FireWire in our G3s.  Your best bet is rev.2.
