They should not be system specific...any usb keyboard should work just fine.
But some requires drivers not available to 9.x. I'm regularily using a Sawtooth with a Logitech iTouch keyboard. No 9 drivers for that, and I had a hard time until I figured out that the alt and command keys are switched around.
Some special keys won't work in 9 either.
