This thread started as a question I had about running OS X on a Beige, and then got into all this. Let me just ask this again, with a little more detail. I dont have a lot of money to spend, so the most money I can put aside for a new computer right now is maybe $100 (plus what I can get for my old computer), so that puts me at about $300, which is enough to get a Blue G3 and have it shipped to me. However, if I want to save my money, I need a Mac to run OS X on. My only purpose to running OS X is to learn it, because I may get a job where it would be beneficial to know the OS very very well. Now, would a Beige G3 be a good machine to learn OS X on? My Beige is only accessing 256MB because of the type of memory Im using. Because of speed issues, should I just get the Blue G3, which should access all 512MB memory, plus has an extra PCI slot, a fast video PCI slot, and a 100MHz bus?
Sorry if I sound a little angry. Its just every time I start a post someone else changes it to a slightly different subject and my original question gets maybe 1 response then its ignored for the new post.
