I have a perplexing problem with my zip disks/drives. All of a sudden, the internal ATAPI Zip 250 in my beige G3 is not able to read zip disks that have not been formatted on the machine. Every time I stick a zip disk in, I am told that the disk is unreadable and I am asked if I wish to format the disk. The disks work OK either in my B&W (with another internal ATAPI Zip 250) or my TiBook with an external USB Zip 250 (all three machines are running OS 10.2.6), but not in my beige (unless I have reformatted them in the beige). The strange thing is that if I reformat the disks in my beige, I cannot use them on my B&W or TiBook without having to reformat them. I thought it might be a problem with the drive, but using the USB Zip 250 among all three machines produces the same results (i.e. ZIp disks usable in the B&W and TiBook, but not the beige and vice versa).
I am puzzled. What's going on here?
