As noted in a prior note, for some reason, Western Digitals don't use the master or slave settings, but use a "nothing" setting on the G3. Pull all jumpers. I don't even know if you can use 2 on a bus (since I have a rev a)
You can find this on the Western Digital web site, and there are discussions of it on XLR8 your mac.
I tried it with the "single master" setting on both the internal and UltraTek busses with no other drives in the system to no avail.
Update: CD-ROM firmware update did not help.
