Well, what I mean is, if I use the stock HD from a beige and use it in a Blue
G3, which has an ATA/33 bus, will the HD keep up or will IT be the slowest
component?

You harddrive will always be the slowest component...
Oh, nm, I get it..
I can't imagine ATA has any kind of scaling, so conceivably if you put an EIDE device on the chain, the entire "chain" would have to slow to that speed. So I guess putting it on as a slave with an ATA/33 master might be a bad idea. Actually, I'm not even sure ATA is backwards compatible. I don't know if it will even accept an EIDE drive on an ATA/33 bus.
