I used to work @ Best Buy, and learned from having to continually replace the demo Epson inkjet printers what junk they were. In the dry climate here, ink tends to dry in the printhead. While there were one or two models where the heads were removable (like a Canon printer), they're a permanent part of most of their printers. If the heads clog up or get gunked up to the point that the printer can't clean itself, you get to send it off to service. (Maybe things are different now, but that used to mean you were without your printer for at least two weeks...maybe more. Stores weren't set up for the level of disassembly needed to fix Epson printing problems in-store.) I've used various HP, Lexmark, and Canon inkjet printers over the years and would recommend any of them over any Epson. (I'm currently using a Lexmark Optra Color 40 and a Canon S820 at home...the latter is supposed to be usable as a CD/DVD printer, but the cardboard CD tray that was sold with it for that purpose has some problems. I need a better tray to show up on eBay.) _/_ Scott Alfter / v \ [EMAIL PROTECTED] (IIGS( http://alfter.us Top-posting! \_^_/ pkill -9 /bin/laden >What is the most annoying thing on Usenet? -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
