Once you create a Keychain list you have to open each application and add your password in order to add it to the Keychain. If you're running X there is an "options" button to add your password to the keychain. If you're running 9 there is a checkbox to add to keychain. type in the password, add it to keychain and then press ok to enter it into the app. upon each startup you will have to open your keychain (this will launch as needed). Every app that wants to access the keychain will have to be authorized. Once the settings are made to always allow, access will be automatic and invisible.
