a PM 7300/200 w/ 288 MB RAM, fairly stock. Running 9.1 and OS X 10.1.5 comfortably.

I don't know, really... but I do! It works just fine, and it's comfy to use. The 604e is a much better processor than people think it is...
I have looked at the following as possibilities: =20 a desktop or minitower Beige G3 w/ the A/V Personality card, possibly w/ a processor upgrade, depending on what the one I get has in it.
Good choice, but here's the bad news:
I have a Beige G3 and its A/V Card is NOT supported by OS X and it can NOT caputure anything more than 320x240 at (something about) 24 fps.

That stinks! You'd think that since the Beige is "Officially" supported in OS X, that Apple would support their own freaking peripherals! The capture size is disappointing, too... and unuseable for my purposes.
