I had a bit of trouble. I was using the stock OSX disk that came with an eMac. My Beige has Rev B roms, 768mB of miscellaneous 256's, at least 2 of which came out of PC's. It has a Sonnet Encore IDE card and a Sonnet ZIF G3/500.
My problem was that the system would die about 3/4 of the way through the installation; and never twice at the same place. I finally made it through enough of the installation that the next attempt saw it as an upgrade rather than as a fresh install; and it went clean (mostly) from there on. And, it took the 10.2.6 upgrade very nicely. It did NOT take the 9.2.2 part of the installation so well. It runs fine in Classic mode but hangs about 2/3 of the way into booting from 9.2.2, even with extensions off. So I made a bootable 9.1 disk and hung that on the system.
