Portable Document Format. A cross platform method of sharing files. Originally developed by Adobe. OS X can create PDF files form the print command. It give you a way to create a document in Apppleworks, for instance and send it to PC user and they will be able to view the file, even though they do not have AW.


Go to Adobe's web site and read the information on Acrobat® for a good overview of PDF.
