Oops. I am making a Quicktime movie from Quicktime pro (iMovie doesn't have these options). But I was trying to figure out how to take a 700x480dpi digital file from brother-in-law's JVC, and compress it into a file that was less than 700 Megs for a 45minute half, and gave good clarity and did not get jittery on an old machine. In other words, I have to balance quality and compression in a Quicktime file on a CD. Most people are concerned with balancing quality and data stream. Older machines don't have a problem with datastreams from their disk drive, but they have a problem with data > decompression.
Anyway, I tried 350x240 at 29.xxfps----I'll try Mark's advice and cut down the framerate (which has worked in the past). I'll also try the QT Mailing list--I hadn't seen this. I can burn a DV-CD with toast, but I really don't want to do that.
