I feel really stupid for asking this because I know its been asked before but I cannot find it in my search of the digests: Can I take my 80 GB drive with 6 partitions and OSX and OS9 from my Rev1 Beige G3 and put it in my 500mhz FlowPow iMac---and have it work? or must I reinstall?
Swap away. The only way it won't work is if you do it the way I did and include step 2 1/2: Drop hard drive onto concrete floor while shuffling computer parts :-/
Note: under OS9 you'll probably want to boot with extensions off, or into extensions manager to remove extensions that are explicitly for 3rd party hardware in the old Beige, but OSX should fire up happy happy.
