I have Voodoo PCI video cards in my Macs, a Voodoo3 w/ 16 mb video in
the old Starmax clone and a Voodoo5- 32 mb video I think- in the Beige. They
were made by 3dfx and they have 2 ports- VGA, and not sure what the other
is- has more pin holes- 3 rows of about 10 each. I'm very happy w/ them.
The voodoo3 was a PC card I flashed to mac. I'm not sure but think there
were no Mac versions of the Voodoo3 and that all those in use in Macs were
flashed- not too difficult to do.
     I don't think there's a flash utility for the "5"- couldn't find one,
so got one specific for Mac. The "5" was about $80 I think and the "3" about
$50. The Voodoo5 will display millions of colors at 1024x768 resolution.
The main reason for the popularity of the Radeon is support for DVD
drives I think.
