Thanks for the idea, got one of my 3 sticks with 256 MB out of my Beige, they are 
PC100,
still the same the screen remains black, hooked also my new monitor from a PC up, 
still no
change.

Could it be a hardware problem?
Will give it another try with the original USB keyboard.
